Specialist 'Keyhole' surgery

Did you know that we perform laparoscopic procedures here at Ark Veterinary Surgery?

Laparoscopy, aka 'Keyhole' surgery, is a minimally invasive surgical technique which uses highly specialised instruments and a camera to operate within the abdomen, through two to three small incisions. The most common laparoscopic procedure we perform here is keyhole spays in female dogs, which is an alternative to the traditional method of spaying.

  • Faster recovery times
  • Smaller surgical wounds
  • Reduced trauma to the tissues
  • Less post-operative pain
  • Fewer stitches
  • Less bleeding, due to the use of cautery

All laparoscopic procedures are performed at our Dronfield branch, by Jenny or Ian, who have both completed specialist training.

If you would like to know more about keyhole spays or neutering in general, please contact us and our staff will be happy to help and advise you.
